Anouk Gijbels is a post-doctoral researcher working on precision nutrition for cardiometabolic health in the Nutrition, Metabolism and Genomics group at Wageningen University.
From 2017-2023, Anouk performed her PhD project at the same group. In close collaboration with Maastricht University, she performed the PERSON study, one of the first randomised clinical trials in the field of precision nutrition to test effects of a more personalised dietary intervention on cardiometabolic health outcomes. The results of this trial suggest that precision nutrition based on metabolic phenotype may provide superior health benefits to general dietary guidelines.
